'Historic Collection KMA' Breda Castle is a castle located in the central part of the city of Breda on the Kasteelplein. The impressive Breda Castle shows the historical relationship between the city and the house of Orange Nassau. The castle was created under Count Henry the Third of Nassau, he commissioned the famous architect Thomas Vincidor to turn the uncomfortable fortress into a magnificent, magnificent castle.Since 1826, the Royal Military Academy (KMA) has been located in the castle, which means that the castle is not freely accessible to the public. The exceptions to this rule are the annual Brabant Castle Day (on which Breda Castle is accessible for one day) and guided tours through the local tourist office (both accompanied by a guide). Many of the original fortifications are no longer present; only at the Spanjaardsgat are two seven-sided towers still visible.
